For those discerning clients who may wish to undertake the project themselves or have a recommended landscaping company capable of undertaking the work.
Usually for medium to large sized gardens, a detailed scale drawing of the garden design is produced by hand which outlines all of the main features proposed, their positioning within the overall design together with the sizes and shapes of all horizontal surfaces such as lawns paved areas and borders.
A detailed garden design is produced (as above) to an agreed budget and timescale prior to commencement of work. Written quotations are submitted with all quantities, material specification and order of works. Samples of materials, such as paving, are supplied to ensure that they are suited to existing brickwork etc.
The normal sequence of works will be firstly the removal of all old paving, turf, etc. before the installation of the new hard landscaping. This will then be followed by any soft landscaping as required.
For projects that don't warrant a detailed design, quite often a simple plan of the garden will suffice to show any proposed changes such as new patios, pergolas, ponds or renewing /extending lawn areas. In these cases there is no fee for the plan as quite often the landscaping works involved will be quite self evident and the plan is for illustration only.
Either as part of a design and build scheme or as an independent request for planting. This to include a planting plan if required, plant sourcing, suggested planting schemes for individual borders or for the whole garden. All types and sizes of plants can be provided from traditional cottage garden perennials to shrubs and mature trees.
